Library DirectorThe Board of Directors of the Laughlin Memorial Library (Ambridge, PA) is seeking a Library Director who is enthusiastic, eager to meet an exciting new challenge, and has a vision of moving and expanding an established institution into the 21st century. The Library Director reports to the Board of Directors and is responsible for the daily administration of the library, preparing a budget, completing required reports and working with local, county and state officials. The Laughlin Memorial Library was founded by the Laughlin family in 1929 in memory of Alexander Laughlin. It is considered one of the architectural landmarks of Beaver County and serves over 12,000 area residents. The library has a budget of $225,000 and has a staff of three full time employees and four part time employees. Two local municipalities provide funding as well as the state and county. Additional support comes from grants, individual donations from patrons, memorial gifts and several fundraising programs. The Borough of Ambridge is located approximately eighteen miles from downtown Pittsburgh, approximately twenty minutes from the Pittsburgh International Airport and is the location of the historic Old Economy Village. Founded in 1824, Old Economy Village is one of Pennsylvania's most popular historic centers. The Trinity Episcopal School for the Ministry chose to locate in Ambridge over twenty-five years ago and is a growing institution.
